Neurodivergent Support and Tutoring

As a former teacher, I work with families of neurodivergent kids to support them through the diagnosis process and beyond. As we know, there is generally no help available post-diagnosis other than medications and clinic appointments. My years of teaching combined with a late ADHD diagnosis encouraged me to become the help that many families need.

So now I support children and parents to understand the diagnosis better and move towards feeling proud of their neurotype and learning to advocate for themselves as they get older. My main focus is helping young people know and own their strengths, grow their confidence, and learn more about how resilient they are. Although this is what I typically centre the sessions on, I also spend time looking at areas where they may need a bit of extra support with their learning.

We work together to embrace differences, feel empowered to learn in ways that work for us, and have fun!

Training and School/Business Visits

With years of experience as a passionate advocate for neurodiversity, I offer and lead fully comprehensive training in neurodiversity for teachers, school staff, employees, etc. Each session I offer is tailored to each organisations needs, but they are all similarly designed to create inclusive environments for both students and staff.

The training focuses on various different things, like:

  • The challenges and barriers neurodivergent people face in school and the workplace and how you can help support and overcome them
  • Different types of neurodivergence, e.g autism, ADHD, dyslexia
  • How to help when someone is masking and how to make them feel safe and comfortable
  • Strategies you can put into practice

School or business visits would include:

  • Talks about The Girl Who Always Could, my book about ADHD.
  • Talks on neurodiversity
  • Talks about LBTQIA+

By the end of the training, you will have a more thorough understanding of neurodiversity and plans to make your school or workplace more accessible.
